The new BMW Hydrogen 7 has been implemented into the cross-country journey the 2008 Hydrogen Road Tour. This event produces the worlds most highly recommended hydrogen powered cars around from the worlds automakers.

The huge hydrogen convy travels from Portland, Maine to Santa Monica, California, with one goal on there mind. To influence the congressional leaders to support a nationwide hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The Hydrogen Road Tour is a partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Energy, the California Fuel Cell Partnership and the National Hydrogen Association.

“BMW has already logged nearly 2 million miles in our fleet of 100 BMW Hydrogen 7s. Being on this tour will show more people that hydrogen is truly the best alternative transportation fuel. An internal combustion engine, powered by hydrogen should play an important role in the future of sustainable mobility,” said Tom Baloga, BMW Vice President of Engineering.

The BMW M1 Homage is a concept car of the future, unfortunately this beauty will have to wait a little bit longer to be introduced into the world. BMW announced that the M1 will not be going into production, although they did not announce a date on which it will (or if it ever will for that matter) be going into production. See this post Here where we talked about the debute of the M1 BMW.

The BMW M1 Homage was to be a concept car with superior engine power, and surprisingly good economy fuel mileage for the massice torque this car was dreamed to put out. This vehicle is said to be the top of the line for BMW makers, and a concept car we look forward to seeing.

Although no estimated pricetag was given out on this vehicle my guess is your pockets are going to have to run pretty deep to be able to afford a car like this one. We all hope to see this car out on the roads one day, and many of us will dream of owning one.

Well it looks like Alex Roy, the lead driver of Team Polizei 144, has postponed his retirement. Remember Team Polizei and their infamous E39 BMW M5 dubbed 144A from the Gumball 3000 Rallies? Recently Team Polizei shipped both of their notorious M5s to London to celebrate the release of the book The Driver… and that’s not all they did.

In fact we were given a sneak peak at the new addition to their lineup. Can you guess what it is? According to GT Spirit it’s another E39 BMW just like the rest, but this one is called the 144R, continuing the tradition of the previous Team Polizei M5s, but this M5 is unlike the previous cars; it is equipped with a roll cage and a track suspension on top of all the other electronic and performance modifications.

It’ll be interesting to see just how much racing is in that “R” and apparently Team Polizei is too. Test laps promised soon, so stay tuned for more info.
