Hood pin install

Started to install my hood pins. First everything was going smooth. I decide to install them where the stoppers are. I hve seen several cars and thats where they where. took them out drilled the holes in the hood (yes its scary) lay the hood down and BAM. pins are too short.

so now i took some JB weld and am trying to get that so the pins can set ontop of that beam. takes up to 6hrs to dry so will see where it goes form there.

Hopefully the pins will have enough clearnce and i can have them perm welded on there.

Once i find out if it all works i will post some pics. i was taking pictures of almost every step i did.

Wow. I hope you plan on keeping your stock hood latch until they're welded on. Having a hood fly up on the freeway will make you shart yourself!

The hood latch is still there. The jb weld didnt hold for crap...so i had to drive it with some holes for a day. Ended up taking the car to a shop. The guy spent a good amount of time getting the hood to line up good when it was pinned down and had to fab up some brackets. It was a pain but came out real nice.
