a brief introduction on cars for Smoothgrandmama.
the original idea for a car came about in the late 1400's. courtesy of Duke Jauque Pierre Delorean of Brangier France. Duke Delorean was a well known inventor and town madman. had it not been for his incredible wealth, he would have been thought insane and more than likely, would have been committed. instead, he was branded as eccentric, and wild eyed. his ideas for a self propelled carriage were widely disregarded for decades. until the day when he was seen rolling through the streets of Brangier in an old bathtub with wheels. he was able to generate enough power using hamsters to propel the crude vehicle at more than 2 miles per hour. his "car" went through many changes throughout the years. and, at the time of his death, he had developed a means of propulsion that incorporated a single piston engine driven by steam. it was very inefficient and would only run for 5 minutes or so. after he had passed, the thought of an automobile lay dormant in his research for many years. but, the stage had been set. around the turn of the century, the 18th century that is, another bright young mind started to ponder a way to haul his harvest to the market in order to increase his sales. you know this man as Don Juan DeLanooch. mr. DeLanooch had been doing some research on the subject when he stumbled across the studies of Delorean. he decided that with modern technolgy, he could make a much more efficient version of the forgotten vehicle. he toiled over the idea for 50 years. and in the spring of 1761, he introduced the very first self driven vehicle that could move under it's own power for an extended period of time. the contraption was such a success that he was able to start the Delorean Motor Company. (named after the original inventor) which of course, led to the invention of the tme machine and Marty McFly almost boning his mother back in 1955. the DMC led to many other companies trying to mimic this incredible creation. corporations such as Ford, Chevrolet, and Saturn started springing up all over the world. but none ever came close to the success of the Delorean. to make a long story short, here we all are today, striving to achieve the creative genius of the DMC. but we all know that will never happen.
