96' C220I'm replacing my heater core but i can't figure out how to remove it without ripping apart all the ventwork and related parts. Its right behind the center console but there aren't any ways i can see to access it.
Of course Mercedes-Benz designed these cars not to be DIY friendly so i can't find any repair manuals for the car. Here's a few pics of what i'm dealing with. Here you can see the top of the core peaking out. ![]() ![]() Here's a view from the right and left floor board. ![]() ![]() I put a brand new engine in this car in 9hrs because of the simple way everything was designed. So far the heater core seems like a different story and i'm stumped. I know there's got to be an easier way than ripping half the dash out but i can't see it. Any ideas will help at this point! |

I can't believe there aren't any repair manuals for C-Class Mercedes cars... no Haynes or Chilton? I looked briefly and found a Haynes for C-Class UK (right hand drive) cars on Amazon.com - eh. Must be something overlooked...

Yea no US repair manuals. I could buy a service manual from Mercedes-Benz but they're not cheap. Oh well. I guess i'll have to.
Thanks for the help guys. |
