Cant read/clear Codes

Hey guys my mom accedentail put diesl in her 2006 Pontiac Vibe. The car was taken to a mechanic. Once she got the car back within the next day a CEL came on. Car runs great not sure what all work was done to correct the mistake. She took the car back to the mechanic and he was unable to read a code but did turn off the light. With her inspection out my mom tried to get the car passed. Of course the CEL light had already came back on. At the inspection station the guy once a again cleared the computer and told her to come back once the computer has receycled. But the CEL light just comes back on. I tried to read the codes with my Livewire but was unable too and obviuosly i could not turn the CEL light off. Any ideas on what is throwing the CEL?

Thats a good one. Have you tried going to the parts store and using there scanner? Try that and see if it doesn't tell you. If that doesn't work then you will probably have to take it to Pontiac.

My brother filled my old 87 Isuzu trooper with diesel one time, its my farm rig. When that happens if nothing is damaged internally all you have to do is flush the engine, drain fuel lines and the tank.

Nothing to bad, like hydrolocking a motor.

Do what Doc said, scan the vehicle at Auto Zone or where ever, if no luck take it to the Pontiac dealer.

I have no idea what the problem could be, hell it could just be coincidental, thats happened to me before when I was putting a new starter in my old Jeep ZJ.

Its been read a total of three times on diff computers and none of the computers picked up any codes. I know my mom drove the car for sevral miles with the diesel i think that maybe the O2 sensors are coverd with diesel(??). Im guess the dealership is the next stop..i as much as i would hate for my parents to pay a dealer price ill wait a couple days maybe some one knows some easy fix to the CEL.
