Tuning For MPG

After i tuned my car and gained a good performence i wonder if it would be worth it to tune striclty for good MPG. SCT websites gives like a 3-5mpg better avg. But could you get a better one if it was custom tune for better MPG?

This would be more for my g/fs car. So would the price a tuner be worth it?

I don't see 3-5 mpg from a tune... maybe 1 or 2 mpg at most with some exhaust work and a CAI and a tune for that.

My g/f has a 08 bettle, brand new. The car doesnt get the best MPG, just thought that the tuner IMO did so well giving my stang a good improvment it might be able to get her some better mpg numbers. Oh well.

Beetles get great gas mileage I thought, I would guess 25-30mpg freeway which is pretty good. I don't know of any modern Volkswagen vehicle that doesn't get good gas mileage.

they should start making beetles with legs instead of wheels.. that would be awesome..

but yeah, a tune is worth it IMO. even if you gain 1 mpg, it's better than nothing.

I picked up 3 mpg from a 91 octane torque tune with a diablosport predator tuner & an Airaid cold air intake on my 07 Mustang GT.

Yes I did see that, Andrew, and I believe it. I've gotten 28 with mine running a 91 octane torque tune with the cruise on at 70 mph, and 30 if I put along the back roads, shift progressively, and keep it under 65.
