Gen III Lightning?

There have been rumors floating around about a proposed 2010 SVT Lightning. I personally hope they do produce these. The Gen II Lightnings are obviously badass, I cant imagine a new one.

I dug around and found what looks to be a 2005 concept or imitation of an SVT Lighnting - probably not going to be the same bodystyle but if it looks anything like this Ford F150 then I'm all for owning a truck!

yeah i heard about those years ago.
supposed to have something to do with the ac and the intercooler where you could press a button and get something like 50 extra horsepower for a short burst.
wonder why the never really produced them

Lightnings are badass, but I would rather have a blown Harley truck, because I'm not a fan of the reg cab

SVT was going dorment and I guess they thought there would be no market for sport trucks.

Yea. When I was at OSU working with Ford we had a bunch of those lightning 5.4's that would put some cobra's to shame. It makes a hell of alot of torque and the bottom end held up to just about anything.

thats what i thought too.
guess ford had to many other plans going on at the same time back then (ford gt, s197 mustang, gt500,prolly more)
to really want to mess with the sports truck market

I have a buddy that wants to sell me a '99 w 40k. It's as clean as the board of health. Just it's a '99 (intercooler issue) and I don't think that it would be a good daily driver. Michigan winters get a bit rough. It's snowing right now.

the lightning used to be the fastest factory produced truck, until dodge dropped the viper engine into one of their trucks. Ford needs to drop the Ford GT engine into their F-150 and 1-up them.
