I Want To Start A BandHey guys, I am a bassist and a bad ass singer
.I was in a punk band, but I hate punk so I left. Anyways I want to start a Depeche Mode Cover Band. How the hell will I do that, with all the synths and keyboards. I don't even know anyone in my area who can play keyboard that good.
I sound and look just like Dave Gahan, it's creepy!
I am into tattoos as well, I currently have 5. If I did this I would definately copy Dave Gahan's tattoos. I already have the Celtic cross where he has it. I didn't know he had one when I got it. |

first you have to find good enough players that want to be a depeche mode cover band (good choice by the way as they are one of the best bands ever - huge fan here).
then as for the synth parts, you will need someone good enough to either play them live or know someone that can make a click track for you and the rest of the band to play along with. my band does it on some songs that we do. i |

i am having to do that right now as i am looking for a lead guitar player. you wouldn't think that it would be hard to find a lead guitar player, but hell. normally finding a good bass player is tough as hell |

Well not really I haven't played in over a year. I meddle a little now a days, but in my old band I was lead vocals and we had a bad ass bassist. so no need for two bassists. |

we have 4 vocalists right now (maybe 5 if my new guitar player can sing). makes it easier as a cover band to play the whole spectrum of music. thing that sucks with people these days is that they don't konw what they like, they like what they know. if it's on the radio, that's their favorite song. once a new "hit" comes along, they forget about the other song.
so we have to play shit like daughtry, puddle of mudd, etc so that people will enjoy the shows. i would rather go out there and play a set of depeche mode, tonic, toad the wet sprocket, DMB, umphreys mcgee, etc. but i wouldn't plan on getting invited back to that bar any time soon. and that takes money out of my pocket. |
