I want to sell my car, it has mods, best way to do this?

Okay so i have a slightly older car and i totally hate it go figure. the thing is its moddified, not heavily... but about a grand in mods and has a lot of up keep done, i replaced a lot of gaskets and babied the car around most of the time...

whats the best way to attract a buyer when in my situation, i want to run an add in the paper... so i have like a 150 character limit ish

thanks

omz

craigslist would probably be your best bet. tons of people view craigslist each day and it's free to use. if that doesn't work, then you might want to run an ad in the newspaper or maybe even autotrader.

im talking more of what the ad should say and things like that to get the buyers attention and not scare them away because of the modifications i have made to it

ok, gotcha. maybe you should part out the aftermarket mods and return it to as stock as possible if you still have the original equipment.

then i would have to get the exhaust all redone, its not like its heavily modified it just isn't technically street legal and to turn it into such a state would cost me upwards of $500 easily

Start by looking at the other ads in your paper to get a feel of how the vehicles are advertised. Dealers here advertise in the classifieds sections as well as their own pages of ads.

Do something like:

Year Make Model: Clean, low-milage car. 1 owner. Lots of goodies! Runs strong all day long

Minus the last phrase, of course. You need to appear professional in your ad, and list a high-end price but not so high to keep potential buyers at bay. A high price might attract the right enthusiast to take a look and see what was done. If not, look at cutting your losses (which is why I still own my car).

Try joining a local car club and selling it through there. Enthusiasts may pay more for someone else's project and finish it their own way.
