M5?Ok I know what an M3 is.
But all the M5's I am seeing are 4 door. Can someone explain to me the difference between an m5 and an M3 are they different engines? or just different body styles? Or both ? |

M5 is the big sedan (not the biggest) based on the 5 series. The M5 has a 500 HP V-10. A cool feature of the m5 is that u only drive around with 400 hp but at the press of the M button u will get the full 500

Yes M5 is based on the 5-series hence the 5, where as the M3 is based on the 3-series. M3 is lighter, smaller, and has a smaller motor.
M5s are 4 door only, but M3s are 2 or 4 door. I love 4 door M3s. Here is a 4 door M3. They haven't made 4 doors in over 10 years. They are back for 2008. ![]() |

Thanks, I knew the m3's were based off 3 series and 5's were of the 5 series but I wasn't sure about the engines. 500 Hp though? I see only old men driving them around here, they didn't strike me as something so powerful
