There is alot to talk about amongest dealers in Little Rock, Arkansas this week. Many dealers have ventured down to Little Rock for the annual Car Wars sale amongest the dealers. Alot of the vehicles this year at the sale are going to be taking into consideration the high gas prices right now.

Many dealers at the sale are charging outrageous prices for the economy cars, like the smaller sedans, and two-passenger vehicles. Many dealers are wanting to sell these vehicles at over MSRP prices. Yet the trucks they have they cant wait to get rid of.

If this continues on the road we are heading larger vehicles like SUV’s, and trucks are not even going to be able to be given away to consumers. The gas prices are just to high nowadays for the customers to want them. So why would the dealers want to buy the trucks, SUV’s at such low prices when they will just be sitting on their lots?

Mustang enthusiasts who are waiting patiently for the release of the 2009 Mustang will be disappointed to learn that only 45,000 units will be produced for the year. This is an extremely low amount of units that has been produced. In fact they have always produced large amounts to meet the demands of te consumers.

Last year alone they sold 134,626 Mustangs, though it looks as if they won’t be doing it this year so you better get your hands on one fast. This could be the Mustang that Ford is using to celebrate the 45 long and successful years that they have been around. If this is true then you can almost be sure that this new Mustang will be rare and will therefore come with a hefty price.

Those who miss out on getting this model will just have to wait for the 2010 model. Let’s hope that they will produce much more and will change things up a bit. Like adding a 5.0 liter V8 engine perhaps? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Ford Motor Credit is doing what it can to help the tornado victims in Iowa by starting up a Disaster Relief Program that will give the devastated people of Iowa grace from two month of their monthly payments to customers that qualify.

Those who lease or who bought a car financed through Ford Credit or other financing brands that they are affiliated with (Land Rover Capital, Jaguar Credit, Primus, Mazda American Credit, and Volvo Car Finance) will receive a letter through the mail with details on how to register. When customers have registered they will have the option to postpone either one or two months of payments. This will give them time to use the money to help them get their lives back on track.

We are hoping that other automakers will take cues from Ford Motor Company and offer the same deal to their customers also. These are the strongest tornadoes that Iowa has seen in 32 years.

When the first Shelby GT500KR hit showroom floors in 1968, people started to realize that it truly lived up to its name as the King of the Road.  With a worked over 428 Cobra Jet, the classic muscle car produced 335hp and 440ft. lbs. of torque, deeming it virtually untouchable. After setting the standard for the performance car industry in the ’60s, Carroll Shelby knew he had to make a comeback when he noticed the muscle car wars were about to get bigger than ever between the “Big Three” car manufacturers, so he decided to build an all new GT500KR.

Let’s face it. The price tag and dealer mark-up wasn’t the only major turn-off for the 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustang. One of the main reasons it wasn’t as big of a hit as it could have been, is the fact that it weighed just shy of 4,000 lbs. Thankfully this flaw didn’t go unnoticed, as Ford is putting a lot of their concentration toward keeping the GT500KR as light as possible. With the help of a carbon fiber heat-extracting hood, mirror covers, and front splitter, the weight difference will barely be noticeable, but as any hardcore racers will tell you, every single pound makes a difference. Rather than using the 20″ wheels that were seen on the concept, Ford has decided to utilize the same wheel style in 18 inches instead. Road holding will be a breeze since they will be wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.

The GT500KR will only be sporting minor upgrades over the GT500, including an exhaust system specifically designed for the KR, a short throw shifter with a “Hurst style” white ball knob, special dash plaque, exclusive KR stitching on the headrests, and an all new intake system that, working in harmony with the exhaust, is expected to give 40 extra horsepower alone. With all new suspension, the GT500KR will be sitting approximately one inch lower than the previous GT500, and according to SVT engineers, the car will be capable of consistently maintaining 1.0g lateral acceleration numbers.

If 550hp isn’t enough to satisfy you, you can have your GT500KR shipped to the Shelby facility in Las Vegas and have the custom “Super Snake” package installed. At an estimated $28,000, the Super Snake package will give your car another 200hp, resulting in a total of 750hp. Thinking about buying a GT500 and converting it to a KR with OEM parts? Think again. Ford has decided that GT500KR parts will only be sold for existing KRs. This should definitely benefit any aftermarket company willing to reproduce certain body parts.

When the 2006 Ford Fusion was first released it paved the way for Ford to branch out in the mid-size sedan market and it gave Ford a newer and bolder look that would immediately catch the eyes of consumers. However, times have changed and Ford is making sure that the Fusion changes with it.

Ford will be replacing the Fusion’s 160 horsepower inline 4-cylinder engine with a 170 horsepower 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine complete with variable valve timing. The new engine will be joined with a brand new 6-speed transmission and will give Ford the ability to better compete with its rivals by making it a more powerful car and giving it better gas mileage than before.

Ford isn’t stopping there. They are contemplating giving it a brand new interior, front fascia, and an upgraded version of the 3.0 liter V6 engine.

As usual Ford is being tight lipped about the details and has not yet confirmed them. However, we are confident that these upgrades will be announced within the next few months before Ford releases the remodeled Fusion.
