The BMW M1 Homage is a concept car of the future, unfortunately this beauty will have to wait a little bit longer to be introduced into the world. BMW announced that the M1 will not be going into production, although they did not announce a date on which it will (or if it ever will for that matter) be going into production. See this post Here where we talked about the debute of the M1 BMW.

The BMW M1 Homage was to be a concept car with superior engine power, and surprisingly good economy fuel mileage for the massice torque this car was dreamed to put out. This vehicle is said to be the top of the line for BMW makers, and a concept car we look forward to seeing.

Although no estimated pricetag was given out on this vehicle my guess is your pockets are going to have to run pretty deep to be able to afford a car like this one. We all hope to see this car out on the roads one day, and many of us will dream of owning one.

When Bugatti produced the “Pur Sang” special edition Veyron, customers all over the world were not happy to learn that they were only going to be sold to a special invitation-only group of buyers from Paris, France. This time around, Bugatti has created a new special edition Veyron labeled the “Sang Noir.” Only 15 of these $1.5 million supercars will be produced, and this time buyers from the United States will get the first crack. If all 15 aren’t sold within a certain pre-set time frame, the Sang Noir Veyrons will be sold to other countries. Don’t get your hopes up though, because all 15 Sang Noir Veyrons are expected to sell within the first couple of days after arriving to the U.S.

When the Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 went into production in the latter half of 2005, critics everywhere gawked at the unbelievably fast lap times it posted around Germany’s world known track, the Nurburgring. Beating cars more than 5 times it’s own price tag, the C6 Z06 lapped the Nurburgring in just 7:42.99. With a retail price of $70,000, it’s no secret that this car was the best money could buy.

All of that is in the past though, and Chevrolet is ready for a new challenge. If you thought Chevy was going to cease production of it’s fast, sporty models of their line to focus more towards fuel economy like most manufacturers, you were wrong. Coming out in 2009 is the all-new Corvette ZR1, and we all know better than to have low expectations for this car.

Just this past Saturday, while driving the Corvette ZR1, in completely stock form, including the tires, Jim Mero, GM’s development engineer, achieved an outstanding lap time of 7:26.4 on the Nurburgring. It looks like the new Nissan GT-R may not be as much of a threat to the ZR1 as people originally thought it would be.

According to GM, the number of dealers set to receive the new ZR1 will be limited to only 338 dealers, out of 3,932 nation-wide. Only those dealers with the highest proven Corvette sales records will be included in those 338. Even those dealers that were picked are expected to receive only one or two cars each.

Dealers have already been receiving hundreds of orders for the new ZR1, with a $105,000 price tag. The lucky ones that are fortunate enough to take delivery of a new ZR1 will be able to take pride in their new ride knowing that they are driving the fastest production Corvette ever made. This car boasts a 0-60 time of a scorching 3.4 seconds and a proven top speed of 205mph.

One of the major reasons most dealers have missed out on being included is because those that were included will have to pay for special training and equipment to be able to service the car, something many smaller dealers cannot afford.

While GM has not released official production numbers for the ZR1, it can be assured that it will be a small number to maintain exclusivity.

In 2003 when Lamborghini introduced the ‘entry level’ Gallardo, they had fears that it would dilute the brand’s aura of exclusivity. Five years later, the Gallardo is the main reason Lamborghini has been able to keep its head above water. After the seeing the success of the Gallardo, Lamborghini has decided to make a more extreme varient, just as it did with the Murcielago LP640.

This new version of the Gallardo has been put on a diet, losing 44 pounds over the standard Gallardo, and has been given another 40hp. The most obvious improvement is the addition of a new aerodynamics package that significantly increases downforce, making the LP560 much more formidable on the track over the standard Gallardo.

Named for its 560hp output and AWD drivetrain, the latest incarnation of the Gallardo impresses on several fronts. With its 5.2L V10, the LP560 rockets to 62mph in a blistering 3.7 seconds, and continues to accelerate to a top speed in excess of 200mph. Utilizing a new Bosch direct-injection system Lamborghini gives the LP560 more horsepower and torque, while increasing fuel economy, and reducing emissions.

On the exterior Lamborghini has revised the front and rear fascias to make them closely resemble its cousin, the Murcielago. The rear now features functional cooling vents, new rear lights and bumper plus a redesigned diffuser. The LP560 also features LED running lights. After the exterior redesign, the Gallardo’s drag coeficient has been rediced by a staggering 31%.

The LP560-4 takes Lamborghini’s biggest success and changes the formula – as a driver’s car, it is devastatingly quick and a delight to throw around a track but as just a car, a daily driver, the old Gallardo made more sense. Then again, when did buying a Lamborghini ever make sense?
