If the news was that only 45,000 V8's were produced I'd believe that. The V6 is the bread & butter of the line, lose that and you lose the line (aka Camaro). My guess is that if demand is there, so will supply. Negating any special edition or HiPo version I'd expect to see volume numbers approaching and breaking 100k. I find this hard to believe.
