2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged

 Perhaps the most anticipated event on a luxury car enthusiast calendar is the release of a new X series Jaguar. While beautiful and luxurious, the lines of the Jag has went virtually unchanged over the past few years. For 2009 Jaguar dropped the old lines of the X series and completely redesigned the new XF in an attempt to set a bold statement that Jaguar is the definition of luxury and style for a new era of luxury car enthusiast.

Mercury Dealers Fear Ford May Pull The Plug On Brand

Mercury MilanThe future of Mercury, one of Ford’s subsidiary brands, is once again in question. The Lincoln Mercury National Dealer Counsel has already started prying at Ford for details about the brand’s future. Ford and the Lincoln Mercury National Dealer Council are meeting in September to discuss the issue, but so far Mercury’s future looks grim. The only additions to the Mercury product line are a hybrid Milan, and a refresh to the gasoline powered version. The lack of product planning has analyst Jim Hossack predicting that Ford is not planning to kill Mercury, but rather “let it die”.

 Aston Martin recently unveiled would could prove to be it’s fastest production street car to date. Aston has been trying to prove to the world that it does just fine without Ford. Following the release of the very potent DBS, Aston Martin set out to dominate the European middleweight market and put to shame some of the best that Ferrari and Porsche has to offer. Targeting cars like the Ferrari F430 and GT3 Porsche takes a lot of muscle and style and Aston Martin definitely delivers.

Hyundai Begins Genesis Pre-Sales In U.S.

Hyundai is on the brink of instituting an $80 million advertising campain in the United States for its new Genesis sedan, although the forthcoming saloon has already managed to accumulate 700 sales. Hyundai is anticipating just over 30,000 Genesis sales annually in the U.S., a modest amount in comparison to other models. Executives at Hyundai hope for the Genesis to be Hyundai’s flagship model, and to draw customers to showrooms. The Genesis will be offered in both V6 and V8 garb, and is expected to cost btween $30,000-$40,000.

2008 Maserati Edo Competition MC12 Corsa

Ever wonder what it would be like to drive a full blown GT1 class race car to the grocery store? That’s what German based super car tuner Edo Competition Motorsports hopes to find out very soon. Edo recently filed to have its fully track ready MC12 Corsa labeled and approved for street use. The thought of seeing one of these tear through the European country side legally sends chills up my spine.  Edo has been customizing fabulous exotics like Ferrari’s, Lamborghini and Porsche’s for years and the new Competition MC12 Corsa ranks right up near the top in my opinion
