Lamborghini To Ditch Superleggera For New LP560-4?
With Lamborghini constantly striving to meet the market’s demand for hot, stylish, and fast sport cars, one car simply cannot stay in production long before connoisseurs are ready for something fresh. As the Audi-owned Italian automaker brings a new ”toy” to the table, something, unfortunately, must be put to rest.
If you happen to own a Lamborghini Superleggera, you just may be in luck. Resale value for this hopped-up Gallardo is expected to shoot through the roof when its successor, the Gallardo LP560-4, becomes available.
“With the new Gallardo LP560-4, Lamborghini once again sets a higher standard for super sports cars. With its new engine, permanent four-wheel drive transmission and new suspension, it delivers clearly improved performance and dynamics. In parallel, its innovative design takes the classic lines unique to the Lamborghini brand one step further. Powerful elegance has never been so defined before.” - Sant’Agata Bolognese Press Release, March 3rd, 2008
Fear not, Lamborghini fans. Nothing but improvements over the Superleggera are expected of the Gallardo LP560-4. This beast will be sporting an all new direct-injected 5.2-liter V10 that will pump out 552 horses, propelling it to 0-62mph in a blazing 3.7 seconds, with refined aerodynamics allowing it to reach a top speed of 201mph, as reported by Autoblog.
